 Piano lessons for children

The piano is a fantastic instrument to learn.  I started having lessons aged six and continue to teach the piano for over 21 years. Learning the piano should be fun, social, and confidence-boosting. Learning in a collaborative setting gives children the chance to explore music together in a supportive and engaging environment. Through games, creative activities, and age-appropriate pieces, students develop strong musical foundations while enjoying the motivation that comes from learning alongside friends. Every child is encouraged at their own pace, helping them grow in skill, confidence, and enthusiasm for music.

Our small group piano lessons are designed especially for young learners (ages 4 up). These classes are structured, age-appropriate and focused on developing real musical skills, from listening and rhythm to creative playing and ensemble work.

Children learn in a supportive, social setting where they build confidence and motivation by playing with peers. This helps them stay excited about music and practice more at home  because learning becomes something they want to do, not have to do.!

Learning for fun
Learning the piano is better
together

.
Many children love the idea of playing the piano or keyboard as a fun skill to share with others or simply for personal enjoyment. Learning the piano isn’t just about preparing for exams—it's also a wonderful creative outlet that builds confidence, coordination, and a lifelong love of music.

I teach a wide range of children’s age groups and offer lessons that include classical pieces, jazz, pop, musical theatre, and film music. I have a variety of music books available, and students also have access to a library of sheet music they can use for practice. I encourage my students to play duets with me, as this helps develop rhythm, listening skills, and a strong sense of musical teamwork—all while keeping lessons enjoyable and engaging.

For children who show a strong commitment to regular, daily practice and take a real interest in working towards music exams, private lessons can be offered to support more focused preparation and individual progression after learning for a few years in our group setting.

*Due to being fully booked with a waiting list, I’m not currently able to offer piano lessons to adults.
This may change in the future, but at present I’m unable to accept adult enquiries*
