Keynotes music provides children with a firm foundation in learning the piano and musicianship.
The keynotes music curriculum is carefully designed to meet the needs of every child through creative play, learning to read music, listening to different genres of music, learning about pitch, tempo, dynamics and rhythm through games and team play.
Group piano lessons
The benefits of making music together
Playing the piano can be a lonely instrument to learn within traditional lessons of the past. Learning in groups makes learning the piano more inclusive for all children and gives the opportunity to make music with others on a regular basis making learning more fun and enjoyable. Children develop their performance skills too by playing solos for each other and in an ensemble which improves their sense of pulse and rhythm. There is the benefit of positive peer pressure and the children make friends along the way.
Students learn in groups for multiple activities such as swimming, sports, dance classes, scouts, cubs, beavers, orchestra..so why not piano? Traditionally students would learn (including myself) in a 1-1 setting as teachers would usually have one acoustic piano due to cost, space and that was all that was available in the past, but since digital pianos/keyboards have became more popular, more affordable and better quality, we are able to play together, learn collaboratively and students thrive when they are learning with others. Lessons are also more affordable for parents and much more is covered in each lesson.
